Members of Congress, Environmentalists to Call on Bush Administration to Keep Promise to Protect Roadless Forests
Administration fails to adequately respond
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Heritage Forests Campaign sent a clear message to Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman and the Bush Administration on the three-year anniversary of her pledge to uphold the Roadless Rule – KEEP YOUR PROMISE.
HFC held events in key states to draw attention to reports that documented the damage that lifting the Roadless Rule would cause to our last wild forests. National partners in Washington, DC, also joined with Congressional champions on Capitol Hill to hold the Bush Administration accountable. While the events have been widely covered in the media, the Administration has yet to offer a substantive response.
