Contact Your Governor!
Thank you for taking a couple of minutes to place a call into your governor’s office. Below you will find the phone number of governors in the states where roadless areas exist. Click here if you live in a western state or here if you live in another state or just scroll through the list to find your state. PLEASE NOTE that not all states are listed below, only states with roadless areas and western states are listed.
Also, below is a suggestion of what you may want to say. It is important to point out that you support the original roadless rule and oppose any changes to it. Additionally, to add a personal touch, include your experiences or the activities you enjoy in these pristine areas -- such as hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, paddling, etc.

Hi my name is [SAY NAME] from [SAY CITY, STATE] and I am calling to express my opposition to the changes the U.S. Forest Service announced for the Roadless Area Conservation Rule that would allow governors to apply for exemptions to it. I support the original roadless rule and feel that it is important for these federal lands to have national protection. I urge the governor to oppose these misguided changes and voice opposition at the Western Governors Association Forest Health Summit starting on June 17th.
